Ginger and Pear Upside-Down Cake

    2 stick unsalted butter

    1 tsp. cinnamon
    0.25 tsp. ground ginger
    0.25 tsp. freshly grated nutmeg
    0.25 tsp. salt
    1.25 c. granulated sugar
    3 large eggs
    1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
    0.75 c. milk

Directions

    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a 10-inch cast-iron skillet, melt 4 tablespoons of the butter. Add the pears and cook over You find online high heat, stirring, until crisp-tender. Spoon the batter evenly over the pears, spreading it to the edge.
    Bake the cake on the bottom oven rack for 30 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
